iPad showing Unlock your journal

but code does not work. I’m able to access on my iPhone using Faceid. I then changed the code (was probably the same). Still doesn’t work on iPad. Long pressed icon on iPad to enable TouchID. Unlock your journal still pops up.

Hi there, @dnihilist! I understand that you are using the Passcode and Biometrics option on the iOS app to open Day One with FaceID. You’ve set it up on the iPhone, but the same code is not working on the iPad. Is that right?
Keep in mind that the passcode can not be shared across devices, each device will have it’s own passcode. (This is separate from the account password.)
> Unlock your journal still pops up.
On iPad, when you go to open the Day One app you will see the popup for Touch ID for “Day One” – Unlock your journal. Is that the one you are referring to? It sounds like you may have the option for Require Passcode set to Immediately. You can change that by going to Profile > Settings > Passcode & Touch ID > Require After.
If you mean something else let me know so I can get the correct information to you. -
Eleanor, yes to your question. How do I go Settings if I can even get in Day One on my iPad?

I would suggest following the steps in our Resetting the app-locking passcode guide. That will help you get access to your journals from your iPad. In short, you can continue guessing if you think you may know the passcode, use Touch ID/Face ID if it’s enabled, or you can try deleting and reinstalling the Day One app. But you’ll only want to go that route if you’re sure your data is fully synced and you have your encryption key backed up — there is information in the guide above to help with that process, if necessary.
Please let us know how it goes!
