Instagram Import
-
The other day, I noticed one of my Instagram accounts was not importing the most current post I had made. I tried “Unlinking” both Instagram’s I had connected to my account, and now when I try to reconnect them, I get through the majority of the steps to reconnect it, but on the last step, when it is verifying that Day One should have permissions to my IG that it has had before, I acknowledge it and then it pops an Internal Server error and does not connect.
Is anyone else experiencing any issues?

@frecklemons1707 Thanks for posting.
We have recently been informed that Meta has disabled our access to the API that allowed us to import content from connected Instagram accounts. We are working to get this restored, but we do not have an estimated time frame for a resolution. Thank you for your understanding. https://dayoneapp.com/guides/tips-and-tutorials/instagram-integration/

I wanted to give you an update on this issue. We have been able to work with Meta to get this resolved in our app. The Instagram integration should be working now. If you’re still having please try removing and re-adding your Instagram account in our app.
Let us know if you still have any trouble after giving that a try

This issue is not resolved. I became a Day One app premium member in December 2023 and thought it was the most amazing app ever – the solution for all of my journaling needs – until a few days ago when I realized it was no longer importing my Instagram posts. I tried (unsuccessfully) to relink the Instagram account. It didn’t work. I then (regretfully) deleted the journal and tried to re-import the entire thing again. Didn’t work. It keeps acting like it’s importing – then it will say, “complete,” but the resulting journal it imports has 0 entries (I have 1583). I have tried 100 times to do this. I tried on my phone, on the app, on my Mac (using the app version), on a Chrome web browser, and on the old mac I had when I first imported it. Nothing works. I have had three different exchanges with Support – all which tell me to do the same things and none of them work. I even turned my private Instagram profile to public (something I did NOT do when I first imported the Instragram journal) and that didn’t work, either, but had the added negative consequence of flooding my Instagram account with followers I didn’t know or want – so beware if you go that route! If you have any follow requests, they’ll instantly turn to followers if you change your Instagram account to public.) I am really bummed by all of this and wish Day One would offer live support to troubleshoot this problem because the email responses are not helpful.

Hello @ctengia. Thanks for your input!

The previous issue with Instagram was resolved earlier this year. Recently, we have been working with Meta again on another issue regarding the Instagram API. This is something that Meta provides at their discretion and we are not always able to resolve it in our own codebase. But we are working with Meta again on this issue.
We will share your message with our team as well. We hope to have a resolution soon. Thanks for your patience!
