Images Not Synced to Mac When Entry Created Using an IOS Shortcut

When I create an entry new entry on IOS with images attached, the images do not sync to MacOS. The entry itself is sync, but without the images. The entry on MacOS indicates that there are images, but they do not appear in either the timeline thumbnails or the entry itself. Instead, the entry shows a black box and when I click on the black box, Day One MacOS crashes:

    Syncing to iPad works properly.

Exploring this further, it appears that when the entry is created on the IOS device, the text and awareness of the images are synced to the Mac. However, the images do not get synced until I open Day One on the IOS device. There is no indication that the images will ever be synced, but they eventually are.

This behavior isn’t ideal, but I’ll consider it resolved.

  • Hi @lowspeedendos,

In order for media to fully sync, the device of origin needs to be open long enough to complete the sync process. If the media has not yet reached the server to be synced to your Mac, you will see a place holder until the media has had time to process. Media does take longer than text to sync.
