Image to Text

Hello! I absolutely love Day One and have been using the app for 2 years. With that said, there are often times when I’ll journal with pen and paper because I still appreciate the feeling. Afterwards, I transcribe the physical entry into Day One so it is logged with my other entries and counts towards my streaks. I would love if there was an image to text feature to make this easier.

Alternatively, having the ability to write using the Apple Pencil on the iPad could be a decent solve in the interim. Thank you!

There is an option to scan text. https://dayoneapp.com/guides/day-one-ios/attaching-pdfs-and-document-scanning/

Hi @taylorwilsonx3,
As @helper-james noted, you can scan documents in Day One in iOS: https://dayoneapp.com/guides/day-one-ios/attaching-pdfs-and-document-scanning/
That said, I forwarded your feedback about OCR handwriting support to our development team as a feature request.

Hi,
To confirm, the scan to text feature is only available on iOS? Any plans to make the feature available on Android too?

I’ve recently begun using a dictation app called SuperWhisperer. It’s free, private, and does a better job than native dictation. I found OCR created such poor results that this was a faster and more pleasurable approach.
