I want to share a concern about Dayone web.

Hello!
I have an old iMac that does not support the Dayone desktop app, so the web version is my salvation for writing my notes.
However, every time I log into Dayone web, the notes download one by one, starting from the oldest to the most recent.
With over 7000 notes, this process becomes very tedious, making the web version practically useless for me.
I was wondering if you have considered the possibility of downloading all the notes at once the first time I access it, so that they can be stored locally on the Mac (encrypted, of course), avoiding this long wait that makes the web application impractical.
Thank you for your attention!

Hello @rblastra,
Thanks for reaching out. The only time entries would need to be redownloaded on dayone.me is if you sign out of the site.
Do you sign out after each use of dayone.me?
We can definitely submit feature requests to have these entries downloaded differently.
As for storing them on the mac, we do store them on the browser until the account is signed out. At that point, they are then removed.

Ah! Ok, yes, I understand now.
Yes, it is the case: I log out after use because it is a work iMac and I don’t want anyone to access the information when I’m not there.
I will see what I can do then, but it would be good if you could find another solution on your part.
Thanks anyway!

Hi @rblastra,
We appreciate you letting us know why you’re logging out after each use.
We’ve added your suggestion of downloading all notes at once upon initial login to our list of feature requests. Our developers consider features for each release based on the number of requests we receive, so your feedback is valuable.
While we can’t guarantee when or if this specific feature will be implemented, we’ll certainly keep it in mind for future updates.
