HTML tag – Markup tables

  Hi all,

  I’m trying to edit a markup table but can no longer see the html tag at the bottom of the code block to enter view mode. Any ideas?

  Hi @pablo475e9941551f1! We’ve removed markdown table rendering in HTML. While markdown tables were available on iOS, they were known for their buggy behavior and were difficult to maintain.

  Now, all tables will display as plain text markdown, affecting both previous and new entries. For more about this, see https://dayoneapp.com/guides/release-notes/changes-to-day-one-2024-19/

  Hi, Thanks for the explanation. This is a shame as I have quite a few tables in various journals. I hope this is reinstated or an alternative developed as I have seen a number of others who would like this or a similar feature.

  Hi, for ordinary non-coders like me, what does this https://dayoneapp.com/guides/release-notes/changes-to-day-one-2024-19/ mean please?

  That the tables I created will not look like tables, is that correct? I inserted it below for some advice or confirmation please, thanks!

  We’ve brought back the ability to use Markdown tables: https://dayoneapp.com/releases/2024-22-markdown-tables-are-back/

  You should be able to now see what this will look like in app. You are correct, what you entered is not what the table will look like once you entered that into Day One, and you toggle on the “Show web previews for code blocks” in the Advanced Settings.
