How to remove spaces between pictures

When it comes to put images into a record, you can either drag and drop either several marked images at once – then no spaces between pictures in a record occur – or you drag and drop single pictures one after the other – then spaces between pictures occur. Those spaces between pictures appear to be unremovable. Does anyone has an idea how to get rid of them?
