HELP, My Main Journal has completely disappeared across both my accounts.
-
Hello DayOne community,
I have looked everywhere on the DayOne website for a solution to this problem and I have written multiple emails only to receive automated responses. Two nights ago, I got onto my DayOne Journal to write something and all of my main account had disappeared. I uninstalled and reinstalled on both my phone and my computer. The Main Journal is still gone. It went from around 1600 posts to 0.
What can I do? I have looked at the Forum and the FAQs and followed directions but all I can find on here are automated responses that are not helpful for my situation. I have memories of my daughters’ first milestones and journals about my grandparents who has since passed. I would really appreciate being treated like a human being and getting some sort of response. I have changed nothing in my use of the app. I understand you have many users and so maybe the response is coming and that’s totally fine if that is the case. However, there is no indication that anyone is even seeing my emails.
I just have no idea and meanwhile all of my memories are gone.
Does anyone know what I can do?

Just to be clear: I don’t mean any disrespect to the workers of DayOne. I just would like a response about what happened to my journal and I feel like it has been very difficult to get any type of information from the website, etc. Of course it is a stressful thing to feel like so much is lost. The frenetic nature of my first post is because I would just like to know if someone has the ability to recover what I no longer have access to. Thank you.
I’m on a MacBook Pro, 13.5.2 (22G91) everything has been updated on the app and the computer.

Hello @courtneyelacy. That sounds extremely concerning, and we will do our best to help. Since this will involve getting your account information, please look for an email from our team about this issue. Let us know if you do not receive an email in the next couple of hours.

James wrote to me via email and resolved the problem. My journal is recovered. Thank you again so much for your help! I’m so grateful.

It is written in automatic translation. There may be parts that do not make sense.
I have a similar problem.
The name of the journal, of which there was only one originally, has been changed and all entries since December 2015 have disappeared.
(I didn’t make any changes that would affect it, it just happened out of the blue.)Memories of my dog who died have also flown away.
I have contacted support twice with no apparent intent to fix the problem.
If anyone has had the same problem and was able to resolve it, I would appreciate your input.

I changed my password recently, tried to login today and most of my journals are gone. Where can I recover my journals?

Hello…
They did not resolve the issue, I did. I was switching to a new iPad and miraculously my journal files were saved to iCloud and everything restored when I reinstalled the app on my new iPad a second time.
I did get a response from support within two or three days, so maybe they will respond to you.
Good luck!
