Couldn’t find my encryption key – don’t think I ever had one. Tried to reset my journals as I couldn’t access one?? without encryption key so thought I should delete account and start again. Journals still there so how do I stop my account from being deleted? Automated help said to ask Happiness Engineer – but he doesn’t exist. No way to email for help with this. I’m going in circles. So basic question is How do I stop deletion of my account Thanks

Without sharing the key with us, is the encryption key present on any device in the following places?
- iOS: Day One > Settings > Sync > Encryption Key
- Mac: Day One > Settings > Sync > Advanced > View Encryption Key
- Android: Day One > Settings > Sync > Encryption Key
If the key is not present on any device or saved to a personal drive, we do have steps to get a new key. See here: https://dayoneapp.com/guides/troubleshooting/getting-a-new-encryption-key/
Deleting the account will not delete the journal data that is already in the app. You get to keep that data, and you can upload it to the new account once you create it. Let us know if you have additional questions.
