Has Day One Sync been consistently terrible for anyone else?

Love you Day One, but something needs to change.
Day One Sync has been consistently getting worse over the last 3-6 months, to the point where it’s almost impossible to use this app. As a user for almost a decade, that makes me really sad to type.
My usual process involves adding photos on my Android device, then I’ll usually switch to my Mac to write the entry. For a long time now, Sync has been inconsistent at best, and I’m more surprised when the entries sync between devices than when they don’t.
On Android, the Sync indicator is in a constant state of looping. “In Progress” is all I ever see, and yet it doesn’t seem to make any progress at all. I’ve gotten very behind on my entries because of this.
I’ve tried disabling Sync, pausing it, etc. Nothing has worked.
What is going on with Sync?

I’m glad you wrote in! I see the email you’re using here in the forums does have a Premium account, so you can also get help a bit faster by messaging us from within the app at Settings> Support.
In order for Pocket Casts to sync from your Android to our servers so it can share those images with your other devices, it must remain open. I suspect you have been closing the app pretty quickly to start writing on your Mac and this has prevented it from doing so successfully. I see there are over 600 images waiting for the chance to sync with our servers from your account. I suspect this is why you’re seeing this:

I recommend you temporarily turn off any screen lock, plug in your device, and leave Day One open for a long time until those hundred and hundreds of images have a chance to sync.
If this doesn’t help, please, write to us from within the Android app. That will give us a chance to check out your app diagnostics on the device to take a closer look at why the photos are having trouble.
