Following app update on iOS, app is ‘loading’ forever and cannot be opened

I can’t even figure out how to delete it — it doesn’t allow me to delete it from the apps screen. I have been using Day One on my iPhone, MacBook and iPad happily for years now, but I really need to fix this. Can you help?

Could you try going to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Day One? Then Offload App to remove the app installation files.
After offloading the app, try to relaunch it again from your home screen, it will try to download and reinstall the app from the App Store with your local files intact.

Same issue BUT it is just spinning so cannot off load and cannot delete on Home Screen ..It is Stuck. Leaving on trip and desperate..
