Folder function and journal memo function

I want to divide the journal in more detail by dividing the folder.

It is very helpful to have a memo function in the journal. There are things I want to write, but I don’t want to write in the journal, so if you can use the memo function for each journal, it is convenient because you can write various things as a note or supplement.

Please consider it. I really want to use it for the rest of my life, so it doesn’t matter if it takes time, please.

When adding the folder function, if possible, I would like to be able to search for folder names as well. There are a lot of journals, so it’s convenient to search!

As regards dividing a journal into subsets of related entries using folders, have you looked at tags? Tags allow you to instantly filter a journal and view a subset of related entries.

One good thing about using tags instead of folders is that a single journal entry may be part of multiple subsets, while an entry in a folder is only in that one folder. You can’t have an entry simultaneously in two or more folders.

Using tags like this allows you to slice-n-dice your entries multiple ways, in multiple views. Tags can be very powerful.

One example in my own journals is the tag: hiking-log. I keep a log of all of my hikes. I could have a folder for Hiking Log (if that feature were implemented) but I can currently view all of my hiking log entries at once, separated from all other entries, just by filtering using that tag. For me this tag-based filtering also works in another way. I have multiple journals based on calendar years. My hiking-log tag can be used to filter to related entries across journals (for me, hikes across the years).

  • Great feedback, @nsurtruknsnysy and @stevekoterski

I’ve added them to our ideas board for consideration :)

There are a lot of tags and entries, so if there is a folder function, it can be further separated and filtered, so it is easy to search and very convenient.

Thank you very much for considering the folder function and the entry memo function!!
