Feature suggestion: inline tagging

    Hi Day One team,

I was playing around with tags today. I noticed that it takes 4-5 clicks to tag an entry on Android, and 3 mouse clicks on the web.

Has the team considered or are there any plans to create some form of inline tagging – perhaps (and it’s just the first thought I came up with), using a hashtag like FB, Insta, LinkedIn, etc. and it shows up as a tag for the entry.

This way, my fingers never have to leave the keyboard!

Thanks for considering. Keep up the great work.

    Ben

UPDATE for Day One on the Web:

So it turns out that using a hashtag for tagging already exists for the Web version. You go to Settings | Entries and the first option is an option to use hashtags to create/add tags.

So thank you Day One team for solving this one so quickly! 🤣

Feature request still remains for mobile apps:

Is this feature coming to the mobile apps any time soon (prioritize Android please)?

    Thank you again

One more update on the Web app. Per above, I can create or associate a tag inline using the #[tag]. But it seems it is case sensitive. So, when I type #food as opposed to #Food, it is considered two separate tags.
