Feature request: Padding at the end of paragraphs vs. adding a blank line

I would like a setting that allows me to have a user-defined amount of space after a carriage return. I use this all the time in Microsoft Word and in UpNote, my favorite note-taking app.

I didn’t think to suggest this feature until I just created a feature request and noticed that this editor adds space between paragraphs after a carriage return. I doubt that I can define the amount of space, but at least I can simply press “return” one to create a new paragraph and I don’t have to press it twice.

Pressing twice isn’t a huge effort, but for my workflow I have three apps that I use primarily for text entry: Word, UpNote, and Day One. I would be so happy if my muscle memory didn’t have to adjust to the difference between the first two apps and Day One when I am creating paragraphs. That would improve my “flow”, as the kids say, when writing.

  • Thank you for sharing this suggestion! I’ve gone ahead and added your request for user-defined paragraph spacing to our list of feature requests.

While I can’t provide a timeline for when or if this will be implemented, please know that your feedback has been logged and our team will keep it in mind for future updates.
