  Feature Request: Manual Dark/Light Mode Toggle

  Dear Day One Team,

  I’m writing to suggest a simple but useful feature: please add a manual toggle to switch between dark mode and light mode in the app’s appearance settings.

  Currently, Day One follows the system appearance automatically. While convenient, there are times when I prefer to use the app in dark mode while my system is in light mode, or vice versa. Having a manual override option (like many other apps now offer) would give users more control over their visual experience.

  Ideally, this could be a simple dropdown menu in Preferences → Appearance​ with three options: “Light,” “Dark,” and “Auto (Follow System).”

  This small addition would allow us to customize the writing environment to better suit our preference or lighting conditions at any given moment.
