Feature Request: Better window functionality

When you start a journal entry, the text is at the top of a blank window. As you type, the text fills the window and the amount of blank space gets smaller. Your eye has to follow the text all the way to the bottom of the window.

As you type more text, the text scrolls upward and the new text stays at the bottom of the window – and the bottom of the display. I find myself looking at the bottom of the display when I would prefer to look at the middle of the display.

My request is to be able to scroll the text upward, revealing a blank portion of screen – just as is the case after writing a few paragraphs. That way my eyes could remain mid-display. Microsoft Word does this quite nicely.

  • Hi @mglish,

Thanks for sharing your feature request — that’s a really thoughtful suggestion! To make sure we pass your request to the correct team for them to consider, could you let us know which platform you’re referring to? Are you using Day One on iOS, Android, Mac, or the web?
