Export to HTML
-
Hi,
According to the Day One website, it is possible to export notes as HTML (see the screenshot below), but I cannot see how/where I do that. Can someone help please?

Thank you for the fast response.
However, the link is dated Aug 3, 2012. The referenced utility on GitHub is marked archived by the owner on Nov 24, 2023.
It also says This tool is not compatible with the current Day One journal formats.
Can you please advise if there is a utility that is updated and compatible with the current Day One formats?
Thanks in advance.

@cadetvvoo We apologize for the confusion.
At the moment, we don’t offer or officially support the ability to export to HTML. However, we do support exporting to plain text, PDF, .csv, and JSON format in a .zip file. We’ve also updated the page to ensure it provides accurate information.
If you need a guide on how to export entries, you can check it out here: https://dayoneapp.com/guides/tips-and-tutorials/exporting-entries/
Let us know if you still have any questions or if there’s anything else we can assist you with.

If you want html I think the easiest thing is to export your journal in Markdown and use a markdown editor to create the html.

Day One really needs to offer HTML export that includes embedded photos. Even Apple Journal can do that. (Granted, they’re reformatted to square shapes, but at least it’s possible.)
