Export feature doesn’t export pictures??

I’m trying to export my journals, and it seems when you export to PDF, pictures are not included. Is there something I’m missing?

I’m trying to download all my journals in case something goes wrong or Day One is no longer around. I have some journals that have 500 entries…I’m also unable to download an entire journal if it has too many entries…is there a work around for this. I’m tried to download all entries, but it never completes, always an error.

    Please advise.

I can appreciate wanting to have a copy of your own data. It’s better to be safe.

It sounds like you’re focusing on PDF exports. Is that right? Those should include the images you add to your Journals. If it doesn’t please let us know the specific Entry ID you’d expect to see an image on but don’t in the export.

Next, the error you’re describing sounds like you may not have enough memory on your device to handle the export process. This can happen if your entries have a significant amount of media. I would recommend trying the export process on a different device that has more memory, like switching from exporting on iPhone to Mac.

I’d also recommend trying a JSON export. This will be easier on your device’s memory than PDF. The export includes separate files for text and media, but will include them in the export.

I can better assist with the failure to download all entries if you let me know a bit more about what device you’re using and what kind of export you’re trying to do. Any extra details you think might be relevant would be appreciated.
