DayOne Speed decline using MAC OS?
-
I’ve been using DayOne well over a decade and just in the last few weeks I’ve noticed it’s taking longer and longer to start a new entry when using MAC OS Sequoia. I have over 8500 entries and nearly 10,000 media but it’s never been an issue until just recently. Is DayOne throttling down on people who have too much data or is this a weakness on the server side? I don’t have the same problem on a ios device. It take nearly 30 painful seconds of watching the spinning icon after I click new entry until it opens up the editor.

Hello @clarkgw!
We are constantly working on improvements to make sure Day One is running as smoothly as possible. It’d be helpful to get some more information from you about this.
Please contact us at dayone.me/support.
It would also be helpful for you to send diagnostics from your Mac? Please put “Attn: Ticket #10751711” in the subject line.

Since this is on a Mac could you open up Activity Monitor, search for Day One, select the main Day One Process with the standard blue & white icon and choose “Sample Process“ while the app is being slow?
That will record everything the app is doing for 10 seconds. Then can you save that as a text file and send it along with the diagnostics so our team can take a look?
