Day One reverts back to “All Entries”
-
I reported this issue in the past, but this week I noticed what I think caused the issue. Please consider fixing.
I have used Day One for many years, and have two Journals.
Let’s call them Journal 1 and Journal 2.
95% of my entries are in Journal 2, so I try to keep the Day one app in this Journal all of the time. For years, this worked fine.
I noticed in the last couple of years, that occasionally, I would find the Day One app running in the “ALL ENTRIES” screen but could not explain it, since I never intentionally change to this.
I have noted this week that what initiates this is a search for a word or words. At times, when I do a search for a single word or phrase, I notice that after the search, the app has switched from Journal 2 to ALL ENTRIES. It was reproducible. At first, I thought it was because the entry wound up with results from both journals, but today I noticed a search that resulted in 4 entries…all of which were in Journal 2, so I was surprised when the app reproducibly changed from Journal 2 to ALL ENTRIES.
I looked into this before by sending a contact form, and I think I was told that this was not expected and a reason was never found. In any event, it still seems to be doing this.

Hello! 👋
I believe I found your email in our support queue and have responded there. Let us know if you did not receive the email.
When searching or using the filters, the view does default to All Entries first. Once the search or filter is applied, you can then switch to individual journals in the sidebar and the filter will remain in place.
