Day One gone from macOS Shortcuts
-
Hi, I have encountered an issue that Day One gone from the Shortcuts app on macOS after a recent update. I have a workflow used to work that fetches the metadata from Apple Music app and creates an entry in Day One about the album. Now it reports as Unknown Action at the entry creation step.
- macOS: 15.7
- Day One: 2025.19.2 (1696)
Is this a known issue or planned change?

We haven’t changed anything about our shortcuts lately on macOS, so the issue seems to be related to recent changes rolled out by Apple in Sequoia 15.7 and Tahoe 26. Our developers are investigating the cause and hope to have a solution soon.
In the meantime, would you try the following, which worked for some of our users?
- Delete existing shortcuts
- Restart Shortcuts app
- Create a new Day One shortcut
I hope that helps! Let us know how that goes.

Hi @staff-bluejay thanks for looking into this. Day One is missing from the Shortcuts apps list. As a user there’s nothing to do. I presume the only way is to wait for an update from Day One, unless Apple is aware of the bug and pushes an update which seems very unlikely to me 🥲

Also experiencing this issue. No other apps seem to have vanished from Shortcuts actions (though it’s possible that I”m failing to see it)

Hi folks. Thanks for your patience with this.
Just wanted to let you know we’ve prepared a fix for the missing Shortcut actions on the Day One macOS app. That will be available in the 2025.21 update, so please keep an eye out for that, and let us know if you continue to have trouble after updating.
Thanks!

Warning: DayOne actions returned to shortcuts on MacOS with the latest version of DO, but if that shortcut is edited on an iPhone (since shortcuts sync via iCloud), then it no longer works on macOS, and the “unknown action” message returns.
