Day One app frozen on a date and I can’t exit date

I use Day One for daily entries, now over 10 years worth of entries. Lately, when I visit a date and leave it on that date for an extended time, say over an hour, the app freezes and stays on that date. Usually restarting my iPhone resolves the problem. Not this time. The app loads, goes to the date, and nothing I can do “unfeeezes” the date. What can I do to resolve this? Thank you for considering my question.
