Day One app crashing on macOS Sonoma 14.4 (M1 chip)

  Dear support,
  When I open the Day One app it crashed and a circle with different colours apperars on the screen. Have you experiemented similar issues?

  Thank you for writing in! Our team has been working to correct this and our latest release should resolve it. Please, update your app to 2024.6.1. That should fix this.

  I cannot send anything as the app crash as soon as I open it

  Hello @aitaseller. Do you see an update on the Mac App Store for Day One? If so, are you able to open Day One after updating?

  If Day One still crashes after updating, we could have you try reinstalling.

  If your data is synced, can you delete Day One and reinstall it? See here:

  I’m getting this on M1 Mac’s on Sonama too. Mostly when scrolling. This is on 2024.11. Sometimes if I select an old entry so I can fix location data on it, it crashes as I select it then won’t reopen unless I wipe the Library Group Containers folder for it, sigh back in and let them redownload. It then works again for a while and then hits the same problem

  @jedi58 we want to investigate further! That sounds super annoying and not at all how we want things to go for you. Can you please share the diagnostics from your Mac App and crash logs next time this happens?

  Meanwhile, I encourage you to check out the web app: https://dayoneapp.com/guides/day-one-on-the-web/getting-started-on-the-web/. It doesn’t have all the same features of the Mac app, but should be much more stable for you

  Will get this sent over today. If I try it on my old laptop running Big Sur the issue doesn’t happen there. I can happily edit for hours without issue
