Hello! We have a sample CSV export here: https://dayoneapp.com/guides/settings/importing-data-to-day-one/. This has all of the available fields when exporting a CSV from Day One. The two required headers are date and text. The date format must be in the same format as show in that guide above.

Let us know if that helps or if we can assist you further.

Hello. I am also looking to import entries via CSV. The comment above suggests that there are fields other than date and text that can be included in the CSV file, but the sample file only includes those two fields. Can anyone tell me what additional fields can be included in the CSV file?

  • Hi @clarelgibson – I believe we responded to your support ticket via email earlier today, but for reference, here is the full list of possible fields:

    date,text,uuid,duration,starred,isPinned,editingTime,modifiedDate,creationDevice,timeZoneIdentifier,authorName,conditionsDescription,moonPhase,moonPhaseCode,pressureMB,relativeHumidity,sunriseDate,sunsetDate,temperatureCelsius,visibilityKM,weatherCode,weatherServiceName,windBearing,windChillCelsius,windSpeedKPH,address,administrativeArea,altitude,country,floorLevel,foursquareID,heading,latitude,localityName,longitude,placeName,speed,locationTimeZoneName,locationUserLabel,locationUserType,regionCenterLatitude,regionCenterLongitude,regionRadius,activityName,ignoreStepCount,stepCount,mediaMD5s

We’ll work on getting those added to our documentation.
