Crash M1 Mac using voice dictation
-
Hi. Anyone else experienced this? I use DayOne on laptop and IOS and it generally works perfectly. I have started using voice input more on the Mac and this too works well, but I have experienced frequent crashes – if that’s the right word, it’s more like the application closes and goes back to the D1 log-in screen. I don’t get this with typed keyboard input.
Not sure what’s happening – it doesn’t seem to be in response to certain words or phrases. I’m assuming D1 uses the standard Apple set for spoken commands e.g. at <https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mh40695/mac>
Any insight would be useful.

Hello there! That sounds annoying. We’d love to help troubleshoot. To confirm, are you using the Dictation feature within macOS?
Would you mind sharing diagnostics and a crash log with us? You can do so by going to Day One > Settings > Support > Diagnostics. Crash logs can be found here: https://dayoneapp.com/guides/troubleshooting/getting-crash-logs-from-day-one-for-macos
You may receive an automated reply to the diagnostics email. If so, please respond once more to the automated reply. Thanks!
