CLI being blocked as malware
-
I run a dayone2 CLI script every day to add a Day One entry, but today it is getting blocked because it contains malware? I tried deleting dayone2 and the old dayone binary and reinstalling dayone per the instructions, but I still get the error. I am using MacOS Sequoia and Day One 2025.20

I’m having this issue as well. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Day One app and cli tools.

@topdog3418 @wendydunnng @jeffdeville Thanks for your report!
We’re aware of the issue and currently working on it. Hopefully, we can release a fix for this soon.

Just following up to let you all know that this was not actual malware, but rather an issue with an expired certificate.
We now have a fix in place for this issue, which will be included in the Day One Mac 2025.21 release.
Please keep an eye out for that update, and let us know if you still have trouble with it after updating.
Thank you all for your patience!

I’m have the same issue, in 2025.25 version, I installed the new CLI, it didn’t working, I check it with ChatGpt, it give the conclusion that the CLI did’t sighed so Apple blocked it.

Hi @mnf9ypz2p6
Could you try the following commands to reinstall the CLI:
sudo rm /usr/local/bin/dayonesudo bash /Applications/Day One.app/Contents/Resources/install_cli.shAfter that is done, can you confirm if the issue persists?
