Can’t upload photos (after latest software update)

I’m using the free version of the app. I installed the latest update on 9/18 (version 2023.19). Now Day One won’t let me upload photos. Every time I click on the icon to add a photo, I get a pop-up encouraging me to upgrade to a paid subscription. I can click on the X to get out of the pop-up, but it always reappears when I try to add a photo.
Is this happening to anyone else who’s using the free version? I’m thinking that it must have been the software update that’s causing this and hoping it will get fixed asap. Thanks!

Hello! That is frustrating and not expected. Users with the Basic plan can add one photo per entry.
Have you already tried force-quitting Day One or restarting the device? If not, may we have you try those options first? We look forward to your reply!

Hi, I’m a Plus user and also having this exact issue. I’ve checked for a new update or patch (none available), force quit, and restarted my device (iOS 12) with no changes. I’d love to hear other solutions!

Can you find the version number of Day One on each device and let me know what you have? See here: https://dayoneapp.com/guides/settings/locating-the-version-number-of-day-one/
The last update for iOS 12 should be 4.10.2. To update to more current versions, a device with iOS 16 or later will be needed. https://dayoneapp.com/guides/release-notes/ios-release-notes/
