Can’t Sign In With Apple ID
-
I’m on an older version of Day One, ver. 4.10.2 (623), which stopped syncing a few days ago. Nobody is responding from support so I tried signing out and signing back in but now it won’t do anything when I click on “I have an account: Apple ID”. It just… well, it doesn’t do anything. Two things of note: But when I click on “Day One Account” it pops up the sign in screen. My desktop app, which is also tied to my Apple ID, still syncs perfectly and without issue.
What can I do? How do I get it to let me sign into my Apple ID account?

We might not be able to help with the older version of the app.
Can you please tell us which device and iOS version you’re using for the Day One app? If possible, try updating it. To do this, go to the device Settings app > General > Software update. After updating, you can attempt to log in to your Day One app again.

I understand I can update the app but I’m actually locked into proprietary apps for work so I’m trying to keep everything compatible.
The question is really *why* can’t I access the Apple ID sign in? If the app hasn’t changed and my iOS hasn’t changed then why is it not letting me?

So… is this ‘support forum’ for real? Seriously. Because I look at the *days* it takes to get a response and the ‘replies’ listed on topics (simply posting counts as a ‘reply’ when, in fact, no one actually has posted a reply or answered any question) and it just seems like this is one big shell game designed to give the *illusion* of support without actually, you know, *supporting* any more. I’m looking through the list of questions and there’s a lotta passing off the problem onto the user.
I guess what I’m asking is: *Why bother?*
Why not just not have a support forum. Save yourself whatever time and trouble you obviously think is too much. Wouldn’t a pop up telling me you don’t offer support have more integrity? Or simply make it clear on the sign up age you only offer support to paying customers and the legacy ones can kick rocks?
It seems like there are lots of ways to go about it than this dog & pony show you call a ‘support’ forum.

Hello @visibleevidence. We are sorry for the delay.

‘I am not sure why it will not let you sign in with Apple at this time. If there is an issue with the older version (4.10.2), the only solution we would have available would be to have you update the app first. We would be unable to repair an older version without the app being updated.
Can you try restarting your iPhone and then try signing in with Apple again? https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/force-restart-iphone-iph8903c3ee6/ios
