Can’t put my day one account on new iPad device

I have been trying to inquire how to do this for months and tried several things you guys sent as suggestions. One of them sent me to a place to put in my apple id. That created a new account. Now my apple id is no longer connected to old original account. This has been very frustrating with no results. I had the older version so it wouldn’t let me add an email.

Do you mean you had Day One Classic, version 1? If so, you may not have had a Day One account previously. A Day One account was not required when using Day One Classic and syncing to iCloud.
