Can’t log into old account

I purchased Day One back in 2014 and haven’t logged in for a while, but am now finding it impossible to do so. If I log in (with the correct details) I get “We couldn’t find that account.”
If I try resetting my password I get “Thanks! If there’s an account associated with that email you should be getting a message from us soon. Please click the link in that email to finish resetting your password.”, but then the email never arrives.
I’ve also tried Settings -> Support -> Restore Purchases, but then it tells me that Day One is damaged and can’t be opened so I need to delete it and download it again from the App Store, which fixes nothing, and the same thing happens again.
Also, as I paid for Day One it says I should have access to contact support directly, but I can’t access this because I can’t log in!
