Can’t Import Classic Data

Recently got new iPad that won’t run the new version of Day One. I’m still in possession of old iPad and can get to my data there nd on my phone – however, this morning I wanted to log in to the web version to see if export was an option – i]when I put my email it wanted me to use my apple account to log in, so I did. But evidently this created a new account? A blank journal is sitting there.

I need help in getting my old data back into being associated with my account. I also need to either export from old version or import into new version – the pdf export isn’t sufficient since it’s not data.

  • Day One Classic hasn’t been updated since its retirement in March 2016, and it’s no longer supported.

We recommend downloading the new Day One app, which is free. Please note that you’ll need a Premium subscription to sync between devices.

Once you have the new Day One app installed, you can import your Classic data. For full instructions and recovery options, please see our guide here:
    https://dayoneapp.com/guides/day-one-classic/day-one-classic-version-1-recovery-options/

This should help you get your old journals into the new app.
