Can’t find “Today” entry type in latest iOS Day One app

I updated my Day One app on iOS today and now have a (+) button on the lower right side. I used to “hold” the + to get to the “Today” view so I can get an entry with pre-filled locations of everywhere I went and how long I was there on a given day, but can’t figure out how to get to this feature now. How is it done?
I create the majority of my entries with this “Today” thing and it was already a pain to have to always push and hold + to get to it (why not let us surface it in the main choices if we want?).

I’m having this exact same problem. Honestly one of the few reasons why I continued to use Day One over other journaling solutions is because of this feature. It helped me to organize my thoughts and journal about my day.
If its gone, or the developers make it too hard to get to, I don’t have a reason to renew anymore.

Okay, I figured it out.
Here’s how to find it:
- From your main view, hit the three lines on the top left of the screen
- Click the “Today” button at the top.
- The familiar “Today” view comes up. You should be able to move around to different dates and see your “Places” location history to get the list of places you visited on that day.
You can do it this way too:
- From your main screen, hit the + button on the bottom right
- A new entry comes up. Click the three dots next to the “Done” button at top right
- Click View: May 29, 2024 (or whatever the date is)
- The familiar “Today” view comes up. You should be able to move around to different dates and see your “Places” location history to get the list of places you visited on that day.

You should be able to change this by logging into https://wordpress.com/me and setting your public display name

Thanks for advising how you found it.
I also use the Today view. When it wasn’t available as I used to access I looked at help and found, although it still referred to the old long press on the plus button you can also access it from calendar view. Tap a date in calendar view and Today comes up.
I did contact support but as I’m not a premium user I was directed to other help. Sent me here though. The reply did say they monitor the forum so I’ll add another post with feedback/requests that they reinstate features the update took away.
