Can’t find help anywhere

I knew this would come back to bite me eventually one day and I guess today is that day. I used DayOne Classic basically since it was released and never moved all of my Classic data over to the new DayOne before Classic was no longer supported. This was never an issue for me as my iPhone almost always was on a compatible software for Classic to run on.
Recently, I got a new phone due to some technical issues with my old one – I jumped from a 12 to a 15 so 3 generations worth of iOS software – I went to open DayOne for the first time tonight and was prompted to download a newer version of the app, so I did. I found the import from Classic feature fairly easily and it imported 95 entries. Here is my problem – I had WAYYYYY more than 95 entries, and my phone runs on such a new iOS that it cannot even run the version of the app that is on the phone right now. So now I cannot access the legacy app, and the import function has only yielded a portion of my entries. I had entries from the entirety of college and my early adult life that are missing and would like to have back but I cannot find any similar issues in forums or online.
I did initiate the 30 day free trial thinking that the Sync feature might be what is needed to get the entries back and that has not worked either. I am stumped and really do not want to lose all of the entries and memories I had saved. Please help.
