Breaking separator line bug in web version

When you add the separator line in web version (latest version) by typing “” and pressing enter, it creates it – but then instead of creating the empty text line after that like on any other app version, typing stops and there is seemingly no way to continue writing after that line. Pressing enter, clicking anywhere below the line or on it – doesn’t create a new text field, so basically adding it blocks you from writing further.

How did this even get to prod, no QA of web version whatsoever eh? :D

  • Hi @dpolovinkin,

Once you type “—” and press enter, the three dashes will turn into a separator. Then, you can press enter once more, which will create a new line.

If you’re not seeing this behavior, would you share more information about your setup? Please share the following:

    • Your browser type and version (e.g., Firefox v.138.3)
    • Your Day One Web app version (Settings > Advanced)

    Looking forward to your reply,

so, now it works like intented, pressing Enter makes a new line, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t happening before as I remember pressing Enter and nothing happened, wrote about that in the post too.

I see version also changed to 2025.14, as I remember it was 13.1 before or something like that, so I assume it was fixed. And as there is no public changelog of versions you release (a shame), no way for me to see when this version was released :(

would be still nice for app to make a new line when you actually click below the separator, as it does on MacOS…

  • I just tested this in the web app, and it does work. The way it works in the web app is after pressing Enter the first time, simply press Enter again to see the cursor appear on a new line.
