Backdating entries sometimes doesn’t work
-
Hi,
I am manually importing some entries from an older diary, and of course I need to set the date/time to the one in the past. However, there are a lot of issues when doing that: sometimes the date gets back to the present, sometimes the time, sometimes both. I have done some experiments but so far I wasn’t able to discern what triggers it, it just happens (i.e. I am in the Edit date/time window, I change the date/time to what I want, and sometimes before I even leave the window the values reset, and sometimes just as I am leaving the window).
Please help, this is a bit of a pain, and I worry it might also mess up my already imported entries.
Thank you.

Hello @zq6t9fg9gb,
Can you tell us a bit more?
- What version of Day One are you using?
- Are you adding media to any of these entries?
- How is the entry being added? Copy and paste or another import method?

Hi,
I was using the previous latest version on iOS, I think it was 2024.13? No media was included, and it didn’t matter how the entry was added, I had it happen with entries added both on my phone and the web version.
Now that I updated to the latest current version, it doesn’t seem to happen anymore (I tried to edit a date just now). I’ll try it some more later today and will return with the outcome.

I feel like it’s gonna start happening again just after this issue is marked as resolved :)
But so far so good!

I’m glad things are looking better @zq6t9fg9gb! If anything starts to go wrong though, just let us know in this thread and we’ll be here to assist :-)
