“Append Text to Entry” generates unexpected results cross OS

  If a Day One shortcut is built on MacOS it will show as running on both MacOS and iDevices However, the “Append Entry” command operates differently on the different systems. Specifically, when the Shortcut is run on the iDevice it doesn’t honor the “Start New Paragraph”flag.

  The issue is if I set “Start New Paragraph” on the iDevice MacOS no longer recognizes the command.

  

  Note: I can trap for OS type at the beginning of the Shortcut* but this is unwieldy. I do my work on my Mac and this requires I write on the Mac, rewrite on the iDevice, and retest on both environments. God help me if I come across an error. Has anyone else seen this and is there a remedy?

  Hi @tlillis4! You can share the shortcut by following these steps:

  1. In the Shortcuts app  on your Mac, double-click the shortcut.
  2. In the shortcut editor, click .
  3. Choose Copy iCloud Link from the pop-up menu, then click Share.
  4. A link will be saved to your clipboard which you can paste in your reply.
