App not updating
-
For about a week, my app has been stuck loading at about 75%. It won’t continue updating when I click to prioritize it. I don’t want to delete the app and lose data. Any ideas? Perhaps there’s a new update?
-
Could you provide us with a screenshot showing the loading screen to help us understand the issue better?
-
I am also having this issue. The update is stuck at about 60% and I can’t open the app on my iPad
-
Just to clarify a bit more, are you having trouble updating the app to the latest version? Or are you running into trouble syncing your entries with Day One cloud?
If you could provide a screenshot of this, that could be helpful when troubleshooting as well.

it will not allow me to upload an image. On the iPad, when an app updates, the app icon is grayed out as it updates in a clockwise motion. Mine is stuck at 8 o’clock and it will not open. It is not a syncing problem, but an update problem.

Thanks for the additional information, @djpoint
We don’t have control over the app update process, but here are some troubleshooting steps from Apple you can try: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102632
We do not recommend deleting the app unless data has been synced/backed up. You can verify the journal data synced by signing in to your account at https://dayone.me/login in a browser. If you see all expected entries on the web app, that data is securely backed up.

Hi @angelodeguzman. We are sorry to hear that. We don’t have control over the app update process, but here are some troubleshooting steps from Apple you can try: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102632. Have you tried any of these options already?

hi guys. Same issue here. On iPhone, the DayOne app seems to be loading an update, but doesn’t show any progress for days now. Also, it’s impossible to prioritize the update. To make things worse, the app cannot be deleted. What can I do to bring the app back to live?

Ok guys, just a short update, in case someone else might be facing the same issue: I turned to Apple Support chat and they helped me within minutes. It was a matter of “force restart”, which means quickly after each other tapping the vol up button, then the vol down button, then the side button. After iPhone had restarted, the DayOne app was there again in its full splendor, and the app was up and running again just as it should.

You cannot scan the QR code to open an malfunctioning app.
Reporting the same issues – it’s been weeks and it getting a bit frustrating.

@starstruck820e0d496e have you tried the steps outlined in Apple’s guide here?:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/102632
Please let us know if you’re still unable to update the app after those steps!

I am having the same problem – all my other apps have updated successfully but not Day One. I can’t do anything with it at all.
