Adjust size of pdf imports

I important handwritten notes into Day One as pdfs. They display well in the app. I’d like to order printed books of my journal but the preview shows tiny versions of the files that won’t be readable once printed. Is there a way to adjust the size of the pdf so it fills a printed page?

  • Hi @wgbcdfpwcd

There is no way to adjust the size of imported PDFs. If you’re able to convert your PDFs to PNG images instead, you may have more luck as these will display at full width, so you can experiment with the width/height of the images to fill as much of the page as possible.

You could try it with a single page and see how it looks in the preview.

thank you for the reply. This is useful and PNG does display better when I preview the printed book. However, if the handwritten entry is multiple pages, multiple pngs are generated then they are all shrunk to fit a single page in the book. I don’t want to make each page of writing a discrete entry, is there a way to ensure each PNG has its own page in the book?

  • @wgbcdfpwcd There is currently no way to do that, as the PDF layout is generated automatically, and cannot be edited. We hope to allow more control over book editing in future, but we don’t have a timeline for that yet.
