Active Encryption code

Hello, I have a question about encryption. Is it always active? So are all posts that are synchronized always securely encrypted? Or do I have to activate it for each device? If I generate a code on the app and then log in to the website and haven’t generated a code there yet, I can still see all posts from the app unencrypted. And if you then generate a code on the website, you have two different encryption codes, how can that work? Thank you for your help.

Sorry, this topic is in the wrong category. :(

  • Hi @softjb,

After enabling end to end encryption for your Journals, they will be encrypted across all devices and the encryption key will need to be loaded to each device to view the Journals.

If I generate a code on the app and then log in to the website and haven’t generated a code there yet

After an encryption key is generated for your account, you won’t be able to generate a second encryption key. You will be prompted to enter the encryption key you have already generated to view your journals.

I can still see all posts from the app unencrypted

Can you confirm if the Journal is end to end encrypted? You can check it on the web via Settings > Journals.
