I went to import all of my Day One entries from the old version of the app and was told that my account has been deactivated and is scheduled to be deleted. I notifies customer support and got an automatic reply about email support for premium customers. I will be devastated if I lose my entries as they date all the way back to 2016 and detail some precious memories. Should I get a premium account or does anyone have any suggestions?

I see a matching Day One account for the email we have linked with the username you’re using in the forum here. I have reactivated the account for you. I hope that helps you get those old entries back.
If you were using Day One Classic, as it sounds like you might have from the date you mention, I recommend checking out this guide to importing your entries, as they won’t be synced to your Day One account the way our newer app does.
